How to draw Bugs(Ladybird) with Adobe Illustrator? (Step by step) (Part 4)

You can read tutorial no. 3 at: http://ihsansart.blogspot.my/2017/01/how-to-draw-bugsladybird-with-adobe_29.html

How to use the ruler? Let we continue our tutorial. From the Rulers Tool, you can have guides line (blue color) to help you to make your artwork more accurate. See figure below for a better understanding. To have the guides line, you must drag the line from left sight. Before drag the guides, select the oval until you see the small box like showed at lesson no. 9. Put the lines in the middle of the circle, right above the small blue box.

Now, we need to draw a line in the middle of the oval shape. To do this, we need to use the Pen Tool. Where is the tool? (you can see it at the diagram below).

What we need to do now is to choose the tool and use the tool to create a line that we desire.

After make the line, use Ellipse Tool to make one more oval shape (small one). This time, insert black colour inside the new oval and after that, put the small oval in the bigger oval at the left side. (see below)

Now, select the black oval with the black arrow cursor

For this session, we only use this black colored arrow to select or click. After we choose the arrow, select the black oval.

You must select/click the black oval and then, go to the top of your page and click 'Edit' and choose 'Copy' (see below)

Go to the top of your page again and click 'Edit' and choose 'Paste' (see below)

Place the black circle (new one) on the right side. Next to the first black oval.
